Hello all, Melanie here. I have been charged with telling how this little "project" came into being. It started one sunny Saturday morning in March 2003. Melissa and I were on a stitchin' road-trip of sorts to visit needlework shops we don't usually get to visit. We were cruising along drinking yummy coffee, listening to some cool 80's tunes, and talking about nothing in particular, when low and behold that famous stitchin' question of questions hit the air...

If we could build it, what would be in the Ultimate Stitchin' Store?

That's all it took....we spent the rest of the trip talking about all the things we would have, how big it would have to be, where we would put it, and so on. This is our absolute best, when-I-win-the-lottery, creation.

We hope you enjoy touring the store as much as we enjoyed building it.

Cats - well it just had to be a kitty friendly environment. We just love those adorable furballs, so we added the 2-story cat room, envisioned cat "ramps" and "tunnels" going from one floor to the next, and strategically placed cat beds and potties throughout the store.

Husband's Room - With this store we figured we'd never get to see the adorable men in our lives, so we decided to put in a place just for them. Big screen tv's, recliners, PlayStation, bar.....the guys should be cozy and content.

XXX - Ah the name. Well we had to include a reference to one of our coolest stitchin buddies. The Xanadu (or Xtreme if we run into licensing rights) X-Stitching X-Change will be the coolest and funnest stitching store around. We wanted the name to convey the awesomeness of it all. So people might try and get the wrong idea....we'll just have to educate them on what else S.E.X. can be.
