The Sweetheart Tree: Trick or Treat
October 1: Finished, but not scanned before I took it to my framer. Oh well, it's going to be framed really cute! :)

September 30: After starting out stitching a few of the mosaic stitches with the very light mocha brown (same as the innermost border), I decided I really didn't like the way those stitches looked in that color. I had been all prepared to frog out the innermost border and re-stitch it in the medium khaki green. But I decided that I would leave it as is, and basically just switch the two. It's hard to see in the scan, but the effect is really nice. I'm really glad I goofed! :) I almost have the vine tendrils done, and all that is left after that is the center motif, 4 specialty stitch bands, and the orange backstitched outermost border.

September 29: It's a little difficult to see band #1 in the upper left corner - it's a tent stitch, done with only 1 strand of floss, and that floss is very close in value to the fabric color. I may go back and add a second strand (or I may change it to the darker value of that color). Of course, I've just realized I've done a whoopsie and stitched the inner border in the wrong color, so I may need to frog that tonight (unless I just decide to change the next border segment to that color). :(
September 28: I just had to start a little Halloween-y project, since October is nearly upon us. I had a couple of different Sweetheart Tree designs to choose from, and "Trick or Treat" is it!
