In the Arms of an Angel

by Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum (Lavender and Lace)

When Taneya first announced that she was pregnant with her first child, I initially thought I would stitch a birth sampler for her. But before I could start searching for a really nice design to use, I ran across this angel on one of the boards. The colors were so vibrant, I knew I wanted to stitch this design for her instead.

To convert it for African-American skin and hair colors, I started searching first to see if anyone had already converted this particular design. I didn't find one for her, but I found several others, including MLI's own color conversions for various designs. Then I stumbled upon Taneya's Winter Queen conversion - it's the only place I could find where she had documented color changes. I ended up combining hers and MLI's (because there were more shades in this design than in WQ).
