Butterfly Fantasy by Nutmeg Needle

I got this chart from the sale bin at my LNS and kitted it at least a year before I started it.

This design uses overdyed floss. I love the specialty stitches - especially the one in the first row of specialty stitches (green). The effect is really neat. This is also the first design I've ever stitched with hardanger (not just kloster blocks) cutwork.

And it's my first finish of 2005! The photo is a little blurry, but I was too lazy to piece together scans...

January 1, 2005 - finished!

December 29: I didn't take it out of the Q-snaps for this scan, so it seems a little off color-wise. I've completed almost 3/4 of the bar-weaving, and about half of the over-1 butterfly. The backstitching really makes it stand out.

December 24: I did all of the kloster blocks last night, cut the threads (!) and started wrapping the bars. I figure I'm about halfway finished with the bar-wrapping, and I really like the way it's turning out!
