Updates 2010
- October 30: I took two classes at my guild this month with Beth Ferrier, and finally finished the tops, at least!
- September 5: I finished the red and black bullseye quilt today!
- August 17: The red and black bullseye quilt is nearly finished, just the binding to make and attach.
- July 24: I've started a new quilt, a red and black bullseye design.
- May 15: I stitched the binding to my SSS 2009 Block of the Month quilt, and it is finished!
- April 2: My Bamboo quilt is finished! I finally stitched the binding on, and it's on my bed at the moment. I've also added some photos for the quilting I've been doing on the Quilter's Palette quilt (bottom of page).
- March 15: Halfway through March, February's block for Country Baskets is complete.
- February 16: Pinwheels quilt is bound and ready to go to her new owner. Now I'm working on binding Bamboo.
- February 13: Bamboo, Pinwheels, and SSS 2009 are back from the quilter's (Pam Thorne) and are beautiful. I'm now sewing on the binding for Pinwheels.
- February 6: The January block for Country Baskets is finished and hanging - now to get moving on February! :)
- January 31: This weekend (once again snowed in), I started my block of the month quilt for 2010, Country Baskets. I didn't get January's block completed, but it is pieced and I did get the wallhanging border / frame piece done (except for the sleeve).
- January 24: On Friday afternoon (January 22) I started piecing my Figgy Pudding Charm Bracelet quilt, and on Sunday afternoon I finished piecing it.
- January 20: I created the backings for 3 quilts and took them to my LQS to have Pam quilt them.
- January 11: The Pinwheels quilt top (see bottom of page) is finished, so now to figure out backing fabric for 3 quilts!
- January 10: The SSS 2009 quilt top is completely pieced! Now to figure out backing fabrics for 2 quilts!
- January 9: With snow on the ground, I wasn't one to venture out today - it was a great day to work on quilts! I finished the Bamboo quilt top and am about halfway finished putting the SSS 2009 quilt top together!
Updates 2009
- December 20: December's SSS 2009 block of the month is Cross and Crown.
- December 16: Tori's coordinating hexagon beads pillow is finished.
- November 14: November's SSS 2009 block of the month is Sister's Choice.
- October 28: I started another new quilt, one that I expect will take a while to do, Blocks From the Past.
- October 14: A little more progress on my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt
- October 10: October's block is complete on the day I get it! And a little progress on Bamboo and Pinwheels.
- October 3: I've finally completed my September block for the SSS 2009 BOM quilt. I've also added one more picture of the quilting (Sunburst Wedge) on my Quilter's Palette quilt.
- September 17: New pictures for the quilting on my Quilter's Palette quilt (scroll to the botom of that page), the finishing squares of my SSS 2009 BOM quilt, and my Bamboo and Pinwheels blocks assembly.
- August 29: I basted the layers together and began the stabilization quilting of my Quilter's Palette quilt.
- August 25: Tori's Hexagon Beads quilt is finished and ready for Christmas 2009.
- August 15: I've finished the assembly and binding for Noel's Gone Fishing quilt, hooray!
- August 3: Finished the Quilter's Palette quilt top. Now I just need to quilt it!
- July 13: I finished July's SSS 2009 Block of the Month (Jack in the Box). I've also gotten back Tori's Hexagon Beads quilt from the quilter, so now I need to bind it!
- July 5: Several more blocks now complete for my online class quilt.
- June 14: Four blocks now complete for my online class quilt.
- May 25: Tori's Hexagon Beads quilt top is pieced! Now to drop it off with my quilter, Pam Thorne.
- May 24: I'm taking an online class called The Quilter's Palette, with Annie Smith. I've decided to use my turquoise and green fabrics for this quilt.
- May 9: May's block of the month is a Churn Dash Variation.
- May 4: 3 "columns" of beads are pieced for Tori's Hexagon Beads.
- April 30: I finally took a picture of my latest progress on the Grandmother's Flower Garden.
- April 26: My quilt guild took a bus to Paducah for the AQS Quilt Show, and I managed to pick up some new stash and quilting tools.
- April 20: I've started piecing Tori's Hexagon Beads, and the first of 8 columns is done.
- February 27: The second French Braid runner is finished.
- February 21: I've started two French Braid runners, and finished one of them this weekend!
- February 14: I've started a new pair of quilts from one set of fabrics. The quilts are called Bamboo & Pinwheels. I've also pieced the February block for the SSS 2009 BOM.
- January 31: Both the SSS BOM 2007 and Hollywood's T-Shirts quilts are finished!
- January 10: I dropped off the SSS 2008 Block of the Month at the quilt shop this morning, and Pam Thorne is going to quilt it (yay, she's quilting for the shop again!). I also picked up my first block for the SSS 2009 BOM and stitched it up this afternoon.
Updates 2008
- December 23: The SSS 2008 Block of the Month quilt top is complete. I'll take it to the shop in January so that I can get my first block for the 2009 SSS BOM free, and arrange for it to be quilted by one of their quilters at the same time.
- December 21: All of the blocks for SSS 2008 Block of the Month are done. I should be able to have the quilt top put together by the end of this month!
- November 23: Noel's Gone Fishing's blocks are now pieced. Quilting each block is next!
- November 8: The November SSS 2008 Block of the Month is done!
- October 19: A new, smaller quilt project started, Dream a Little Dream. I've also put together the October SSS 2008 Block of the Month.
- October 3: The T-shirt quilting is progressing, if slowly. I also finished the thread sampler that I started in a workshop with Sue Nickels at the AQS Quilt Expo in Nashville in August. It's now hanging in my craft room above my sewing machine.
- September 20: I worked on Noel's Gone Fishing blue blocks this week. I also took a picture of the some of the fabrics I've cut out for Tori's Hexagon Beads.
- September 13: Super Second Saturday- September's block is complete! I've been hand quilting the sashing strips on Hollywood's quilt, and today I bought fabrics for Noel's Gone Fishing quilt. I've also just started cutting the pieces out for Tori's Hexagon Beads quilt.
- September 1: Mom & Dad's Double Wedding Ring quilt is finished! I actually finished it Saturday night. And today I finished Delaney's Snow Puzzle quilt. It's in the wash right now. Photo soon, I promise. I'm feeling accomplished this weekend!

- August 16: Delaney's Snow Puzzle quilt is pieced, so I need to find a backing fabric and get it ready to quilt. I've also got one side of the Double Wedding Ring quilt binding finished.
- August 9: I've got a new block pieced for the SSS 2008 BOM quilt, and I've taken a new photo of my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. I didn't realize it had been so long since I took the last one and that I'd made so much progress since then.
- July 28: I've completed piecing all of the squares for Delaney's Snow Puzzle quilt. Now I need to figure out how I want to piece them all together - random, by color, by value? Hmmm... I've also finished quilting the Double Wedding Ring, and now comes the scary task of binding it.
- July 12: Hollywood's T-Shirt Quilt top is pieced, and the 7th SSS 2008 BOM quilt block is pieced.
- June 27: Hollywood's T-Shirt Quilt is a work in progress now, not just an idea.
- June 13: Cocoa Bling Kitty Quilt is back from the quilters and finally bound. SSS 2008 BOM quilt block #6 is pieced.
- May 18: the 5th block is pieced for the SSS 2008 BOM quilt.
- May 12: Reversible Placemats (Cotton Theory) for my mom for Mother's Day
- April 16: Afternoon Tea is quilted and I finished attaching the binding last night.
- April 13 : the 4th block is pieced for the SSS 2008 BOM quilt.
- March 12: Cocoa Bling Kitty Quilt top is finished in 3 days! And the SSS 2007 BOM Quilt is quilted and ready to give to my sister-in-law Sherry.
- March 7: 3rd block is pieced for the SSS 2008 BOM quilt.
- March 1: A little more progress on Delaney's Snow Puzzle.
- February 9: It's that time of the month - a new block for the SSS 2008 BOM quilt. And no photo yet, but I finally finished assembling the Afternoon Tea BOM quilt quilt top this evening!
- January 22: A decision made on how to proceed with Delaney's Snow Puzzle and a couple of more blocks pieced.
- January 12: I've started my SSS 2008 BOM quilt!
- January 6: Afternoon Tea BOM quilt - I've started assembling the blocks into columns; Delaney's Snow Puzzle - I've created another test block (to make certain that I can do this, since I've got to make about 124 blocks for this quilt). Mom & Dad's Double Wedding Ring quilting is ongoing, I've finished almost 15 "blocks". I've also been working a little more on the Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt, but not enough for a new photo yet.
2007
- December 27: The Double Wedding Ring quilt top is complete and I've started quilting it! I've also got a new progress picture of Grandmother's Flower Garden.
- December 14: The SSS 2007 quilt top is complete.
- November 25: The last block of Afternoon Tea has been assembled, and I've finally gotten to where I can start piecing the rows of my double wedding ring quilt to each other.
- November 19: A new photo of my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt progress.
- November 10: I've finally gotten back around to working on the double wedding ring quilt this weekend, as well as November's block for SSS 2007. I picked up my finishing kit for the SSS 2007, and I started assembling the quilt, even though I don't have the 12th block yet. I've also been working on the Grandmother's Flower Garden, but I don't have any new photos yet.
- October 28: I finally got around to assembling Afternoon Tea's block 10, 2 variations.
- October 13: the October SSS 2007 block of the month, Courthouse Steps, is assembled.
- September 15: Christopher's Bear Chase quilt is finished, and I absolutely love the quilting. I attached the binding using my machine and the decorative stitch I learned in doing the reversible placemats.
- September 3: my reversible placemats are finished!
- August 27: last week I went to the Nashville AQS Quilt Expo, and I managed to pick up some really great stash! I started a project using the techniques in the Cotton Theory dvd for a set of reversible placemats.
- August 21: I finished this month's block for the Super Second Saturdays quilt.
- August 11: Winter Night is finished, and it has been delivered to my dear mother-in-law.
- August 5: I picked up Winter Night from the quilt shop yesterday, and the quilting is perfect. Now I just need to bind it, and it will be ready to give to my mother-in-law.
- July 24: The 8th block for my Afternoon Tea quilt is complete, three variations.
- July 14: The Winter Night quilt top is complete, and I dropped it off at the quilt shop today (for quilting). I also picked up July's block of the month, and I've already pieced it together.
- June 30: Winter Night's quilt top is about 75% complete. C and I went to JoAnn's Fabric today to purchase the binding and backing fabrics and the batting.
- June 27: The Winter Night quilt top is about one-third complete. I have some new photos to share on its page.
- June 18: I started a new quilt for C's mom called Winter Night
- June 10: I finished both June blocks-of-the-month I'm working on, SSS 2007 and Afternoon Tea.
- May 31: The Flannel 4-Patch quilt is finished, yay!!!
- May 27: I've finally finished quilting the Flannel 4-Patch quilt, and I've come to the last part, attaching the binding.
- May 19: an update for the Double Wedding Ring quilt, and Afternoon Tea block 6 (two versions).
- May 16: Christopher's Bear Chase quilt top is completely assembled!
- May 14: my Super
Second Saturdays BOM quilt block this month is the Churn Dash, and Christopher's Bear Chase quilt top assembly is 40% complete.
- April 29: A new progress picture for my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt.
- April 20: Some new stash, Afternoon Tea block 5, SSS 2007 April block, and Christopher's Bear Chase is well under way.
- March 30: I've completed three variations of block 4 of Afternoon Tea
- March 11: 3 months worth of blocks on my Super
Second Saturdays BOM quilt, and I don't think I mentioned that I've
started Christopher's Bear Chase quilt.
- January 14: I've started another quilt top - a block
of the month quilt organized by my LQS, The Quilter's Attic.
2006
- December 30: Some new stash, a new
start, and some progress on a quilt in progress.
- December 1: I've been working a little on my Grandmother's
Flower Garden quilt.
- October 29: Allison's Jewel Box quilt is finished!
- September 25: I've found the quilt that I want to create for one
of my younger nieces. It was in the January 2003 issue of The Quilter Magazine,
and I created a test block this past weekend. It's called "Snow
Puzzle" (see the far right photo, second row) and it was created
by Shelley Swanland.
She has a really innovative way of machine piecing Cathedral Windows, which
was featured on Simply Quilts, episode 623.
- September 22: Allison's
Jewel Box quilt was dropped off at the quilter's this afternoon, so it should be done in time for Christmas (yay me!). I've also added some more progress pictures to the Double wedding ring quilt page.
- September 3: I've been working all weekend on Allison's
Jewel Box quilt top, and it is finished! Now to piece the backing and take
it to the quilter... :)
- August 31: The Flannel 4-patch quilt top is done! Once I seam the backing fabric, it will be ready to be quilted. Allison's Jewel Box quilt top is nearly finished - I just have the borders to go!
- August 5: The Flannel 4-patch is now in strips waiting to be sewn together.
- July 10: I worked some more on my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt - my opus. ;)
- June 24: Flannel 4-patch aka CC's Blankie #2 and Allison's
full-size quilt both have a little more progress.
- May 28: Teresa's Baskets is finished!
- April 10: Teresa's Baskets is back from the quilter's, and I've started
attaching the binding and some buttons in the middle of each flower. This
weekend, I also worked on the Double Wedding Ring quilt, Allison's big quilt,
and CC's blankie #2.
- April 7: The Rail Fence quilt (for me!) is done - binding all attached,
and we've already used it as an extra blanket on our bed.
- April 3: THREE quilts started this weekend!!! Okay, the Flannel
4-patch is only just pieces cut so far, but I count that as started. Others officially
begun include a double wedding ring quilt and Allison's
'big' quilt.
- March 23: My rail fence quilt is nearly
finished now that Linda Gray has machine quilted it (gorgeously, I must
add) - I just need to attach the binding. Also, I have dropped off Teresa's
Traditional Flower Baskets at the quilt shop for machine quilting, so
I'm ahead of schedule for this year!
- February 26: Gerrick's Aquarium is finished!!!
- February 15: Gerrick's Aquarium is
getting close now - 9 more blocks plus the border to quilt!
- January 10: Gerrick's Aquarium is
coming along - 17 blocks are now quilted, and I really need to get on the
ball if
I'm going to finish by the first of March! :)
2005
- November 16: Gerrick's Aquarium is well
underway, with 8 of 42 blocks quilted thus far.
- November 12: Scott's Ships is all done, ready
for Christmas!!!
- October 30: Scott's Ships is nearly finished,
with all but one block quilted, and the binding yet to go.
- May 26: Scott's Ships is coming along, with
24 blocks quilted. With the upcoming holiday weekend, I am hoping to seam Gerrick's
quilt back and applique some more of Teresa's
Baskets blocks.
- April 9: Gerrick's quilt top is completely
pieced now
- March 28: I've started ANOTHER quilt - this
one for my nephew, Gerrick.
- March 20: I have now quilted 16 blocks on Scott's
Ships, and I'm ready to start appliqueing the flowers and leaves on Teresa's
Baskets blocks.
- January 26: I have now quilted 8 squares on Scott's Ships,
and I've created a new page for Teresa's Baskets, which
I've started piecing.
2004
- November 28: The quilt top piecing of Scott's
Ships is finished! And I have a tiny update on my Grandmother's
Flower Garden.
- November 21: Sashing strips and squares on Scott's
Ships are all attached to the blocks, and I've started connecting the
blocks together, in groups of 4 (2x2), starting from the bottom and working
my way up.
- September 5: Scott's Ships is slowly
coming along - I'm starting to add the sashing strips to each block, and
once those are finished, I can piece the top together.
- May 3: I'm going to start working on Scott's
Ships again.
- April 25: My Cottage Garden Bullseye is
finished!!!
- April 3: I have finished the quilting on my Cottage
Garden Bullseye, so now I just have to connect each of the 12 4-block
segments together, and bind my quilt!
- January 20: I've pieced all of the 48 Cottage
Garden Bullseye blocks, so now I get to put them all together into
the quilt!
2003
2002
- December 24: Amy Beth's Drunkard's
Path quilt - the top is completely pieced! And there is a photo of the
backing and binding fabrics...
- December 4: I've finally added my Finished
Quilts to this part of the site!
- December 1: Here's what I finished just in time for CC's birthday,
a quilted pillow that matches his quilt I made in 1997-1998
- Some of the things I got at the 2002 AQS Quilt
Show in Paducah (April 2002).
