Sis's Pink and Blue Nine-Patch Quilt
At the end of 1998, we were delivering some furniture to some friends of ours, Sis and Hollywood. Since it was cold and raining, CC used his blankie to help cover it to keep the rain off. Sis happened to see the quilt, and had a fit over it. So I decided to make a quilt for her in 1999.

Above: Sis's quilt (in progress). The top is done, it is sandwiched together, and I am quilting it. The overall design is a blue 9-patch and pink 9-patch, with white muslin squares in between, almost an Irish Chain, almost a checkerboard, but not quite.

Above: the fabric on the right is what I am using for the backing. It is a flannel that I had originally bought for the back of a quilt top I've made for me. Once I realized what colors I would be using to make Sis's quilt, though, I knew it would be perfect for hers instead of mine. Plus, it will be so soft!

You can see in this picture the quilting designs I am using - a flower in each white square, and diagonal quilting along the colors. There are 84 flowers in all. Once I finish them, I'll bind it, and it will be ready to go.

The binding I chose was another blue and pink floral design. I finally finished the quilt on Saturday night, December 11, 1999. Whew!
And here it is, the finished masterpiece (if I do say
so myself)!!!
