Rudy and Candy ~ The adventure begins

I took the week off as my "kitty-ternity" leave, as well as vacation.  Having just moved into a new house, I felt it was well-deserved.  I finished unpacking, and made sure the little ones were alright.   Pretty soon, they were tearing around the house, making themselves at home.   And sleeping - lots and lots of sleeping.

As if they were posing for Olan Mills

Rudy has kind of taken to my afghan, and she tends to curl up in a little ball on top of it.  At first, Candy would not sleep without her, but now she will occasionally sleep by herself.  Rudy seems to be the more adventurous one, while Candy is more cautious (and skittish).

Rudy is definitely checking Candy out, trying to decide whether to pounce or not...

I took them for their first vet visit on Tuesday, August 31.  The girls checked out fine - no feline HIV or leukemia.   Rudy weighed 1 lb. 4 oz., Candy was 1 lb. 6 oz.  They did pretty good for their first shots, not crying too much.  They were very glad to get home.  I don't think they really appreciated the car ride.  Lots more crying there than at the vet's.
