Kitchen

This was the kitchen when I bought the house - the previous owner had painted the kitchen blood red (over the existing wallpaper!)

I had to strip all of the painted wallpaper before I could paint it again.

I also wanted ceramic tile instead of the vinyl tiles on my floor, so my dad and brother were able to find some great tiles (at a great price) and the kitchen already looks bigger and better!

Dad also framed in the doorway to the utility area.

I chose to paint the kitchen in a wonderful yellow that has a tinge of green - very bright and cheerful!

Eventually, I am going to have bi-fold doors installed, and I would also like to install tiled counter tops. I have some really pretty cobalt blue that would look great in the backsplash, as accents (thanks again, bro!).

Kitchen / utility area doors
January 2, 2006, Dad installed the frame and doors for my utility area off the kitchen.

New bi-fold doors are painted.
January 6, 2006, I just finished painting the doors and frame (and also the second coat on my windowsill, and re-painted the jambs between the kitchen and the dining room white).

The roman shade I made for the kitchen window
And this is the roman shade I made to go in my kitchen window. The picture's a little dark, but it coordinates very nicely with the yellow walls.
