My Summer Scarf

I purchased some yarn in February 2008 to make a spring / summer scarf. I loved the model I saw in the store, bought the yarn and pattern to make it and quickly discovered that I couldn't knit the pattern well at all. So, I ripped that out and tried several different patterns, and settled on this one. I had tried this pattern once and liked it okay, but messed up and couldn't rip just back to the error, so I ripped all the way out and started again.

I decided that I didn't like this pattern after all, and ripped it back out again. After several more failed knit pattern attempts, I gave up for a while.

In October 2009, I made the decision to find a crochet pattern that I would like to use and that would work well with this yarn, something delicate enough to be soft when crocheted, since crochet tends to work up a little stiffer than knitting. I consulted my crochet pattern bible, The Harmony Guide to Crocheting and chose a pattern similar to the one used in the Lacy Stole. I am very pleased with it this time, and I'm already through one skein of yarn (it will use 3).
