Books and Reading

This information is mainly for me - because my memory seems so short nowadays. I needed a place to record some of the books I have read (or given up on reading), thoughts about reading, authors, etc.

My first memory of books and reading is of my great-grandmother reading one book I loved over and over to me. I grew up loving books and once I was introduced to the Public Library, I was unstoppable. I started out with Dr. Seuss and Miss Suzy, read a lot of Judy Blume and all of the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries, and have read my share of Harlequin romances, various sci-fi and fantasy novels, mysteries, and thrillers. I don't care much for historical fiction or historical romance, but LOVE gothic romances (which tend to be set in the past - go figure).
